Kreston has admitted audit firm Eurasian Financial Services LLP (“EFS”), based in Almaty, Kazakhstan, to membership.

Kreston has admitted Friebe – Prinz + Partner based in the South-Westphalia region of Germany to membership.
South-Westphalia is one of Germany’s strongest economic regions, characterised by medium-sized industrial enterprises and is a leading location for automotive suppliers.
Founded in 1973, Friebe – Prinz + Partner has 10 partners and 70 professional and support staff based in offices in Lüdenscheid, Hagen, Olpe and Letmathe. As part of Kreston’s strategy to secure a firm in this region, Friebe – Prinz + Partner will complement other Kreston service offerings across the main business hubs of Germany.

Kreston China Powers Ahead
48 Partners and Senior Managers attended the 2014 Kreston China Conference in Wuxi in Jiangsu Province hosted by Jiangsu Gongqin CPAs.
The Business Programme included a Kreston China Managing Partners Meeting to agree strategies to strengthen national and international collaboration. The group was joined by partners from Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore and Malaysia. The Conference Break out groups covered audit, taxation, valuation and construction. Discussions centred on increasing the effectiveness of communications across the service lines and developing the national intranet to extend sharing of best practice.
Edmond Chan, Kreston’s Asia Pacific Director and Regional Secretary said:

Kreston highlights importance of quality and business development at first Middle East Conference.
Kreston International held its first Middle East Conference from 3-5 November in Dubai. Hosted by Kreston member firm, Awni Farsakh & Co, the event took place at the Radisson Blu Hotel Dubai Downtown. Delegates from all Kreston firms across the Middle East attended, as well as members from India and Jersey.
Following a welcome reception and dinner at the hotel, the conference agenda included sessions on the development of business and the profession; understanding the capabilities of firms in the region and the opportunities open to members for business development.
Kreston CEO, Jon Lisby, who presented on Kreston strategy, development and brand values and behaviours said:
“This first Middle East event enabled the regional Kreston firms to strengthen relationships and identify business development opportunities”. Emphasising the importance of the quality of our service offering, Kreston’s Director of Quality and Professional Standards, Andrew Collier, updated members on current quality issues and then ran a full day’s training session on effective and efficient audit which included the key issues that members should consider when planning an ISA complaint audit.
Andrew commented:
“The delegates were able to discuss current issues and share good practice to further enhance the technical and service quality offered to clients.”

Kreston leads debate on EU Audit Policy Reform
Kreston represented on panel at Compagnie Nationale des Commissaires aux Comptes (Audit Policy Conference).
CNCC, the French Body of the Audit profession, together with the regional institutes of Paris and Versailles, held a round table in Paris recently to discuss EU audit policy reform.
Kreston International was well represented at the event with Brendan Murtagh from LHM Casey McGrath (Ireland) and Member of the International Auditing and Assurance Standards Board, presenting on the Audit of SME’s and Gerhard Ziegler from Bansbach (Germany) and President of WPK, discussed Non Audit Services.
Sue Almond, Kreston’s former Director of Quality and Professional Standards and now Director of External Affairs at ACCA was also on the panel.
The conference brought together representatives from across Europe and was an opportunity for EU professionals to exchange their views and expectations regarding the implementation of the new legislative framework resulting from the 2014 Audit Directive and Regulation.
The discussion was wide ranging and the agenda included the following:

Audit of SME’s
The aim of the meeting was to provide the French and wider European profession with a clearer picture on how the profession in each country would like their legislators and regulators to best implement the new legislation and what options in the Directive and the Regulation would be most suitable for the profession in each country.

KAP Hendrawinata Eddy & Siddharta, and KAP Drs J Tanzil & Rekan merger strengthens Kreston International position in Indonesia
KAP Drs. J. Tanzil & Rekan, the largest public accountancy firm in East Indonesia has merged with KAP Hendrawinata Eddy & Siddharta; significantly strengthening Kreston International’s presence in the region.
Kreston International CEO, Jon Lisby, said:

The two firms officially merged on 27th October and will offer clients audit, tax and management consulting services under the new name of KAP Hendrawinata Eddy, Siddharta & Tanzil.
