About Carmen Cojocaru
Carmen Cojocaru is the Managing Partner at Kreston Romania and the ESG Technical Director for the EU region at the Kreston Global ESG Expert Network Committee. With over 25 years of experience in accounting, audit, tax, and Business Process Outsourcing, she has played a pivotal role in the growth and development of Kreston Romania. Carmen is a Certified Public Accountant, Financial Auditor, and European Certified Tax Advisor, bringing a wealth of expertise to her profession. She is also dedicated to advancing Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) standards, contributing to Kreston Global’s ESG initiatives since 2022.
Education & qualifications
Carmen Cojocaru earned her degree in Economics from the Academia de Studii Economice din București, specialising in Accounting and Management Information Systems (CIG). Her commitment to continuous professional development is reflected in her attainment of key certifications, including Chartered Public Accountant (2004), Certified Tax Adviser (2007), Financial Auditor (2007), and the ACCA Certificate in Sustainability for Finance (2023).
Experience
Carmen began her career in the early 1990s at an Italian company before transitioning to BG Conta SRL in 1999, where she refined her expertise in accounting and finance. Her leadership qualities quickly became evident, and by 2006, she was appointed as a manager within the firm. In 2008, she became an Audit and Accounting Partner at Kreston Romania, where she has since been instrumental in driving the firm’s success.
Under Carmen’s leadership, Kreston Romania has expanded its capabilities in accounting, payroll operations, financial statement preparation, internal audits, and IFRS reporting. She has also played a significant role in implementing ERP systems to enhance financial management processes. Beyond her core accounting and audit work, Carmen is deeply involved in ESG and assurance services, ensuring that businesses align with sustainable and responsible financial practices. Since December 2022, she has served as ESG Technical Director at Kreston Global, advocating for ESG best practices across the EU region.
